By Public Transport

Caersws is the nearest train station to Llanidloes at a distance of 6 miles. Thereafter the nearest train stations are at Llandrindod Wells and Newtown. Caersws is on the Birmingham, Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth line.

Llanidloes is well served by bus services to Aberystwyth, Welshpool and Shrewsbury and Llandrindod Wells. The National Express shuttle also operates through Llanidloes for services to Birmingham and the National Express UK network.

By Car

Cefn Cottage is 2 hours drive from Worcester and the M5, the M50 at Ross on Wye, and the M4 at Newport, making it easily accessible.

Llanidloes sits just off the A470 main road about 30 miles from the English border. From Birmingham and the Midlands, take the M54 through Telford, A458 and A483 through Shrewsbury, Welshpool and Newtown. Once in Llanidloes take the B4518 onto Bryn-Du Rd, continue for 3 miles until you enter Tylwch. When you reach Tylwch turn right signposted Pen Banc, through the farm onto Cefn Cottage on your left.

From the south, the A470 offers a spectacular cross-country route from Cardiff.

When at the clock tower in the centre of Rhayader take the A44/A470 towards Llangurig for about 100 metres. On the right is Rhayader Leisure Centre, and a turning signed to St. Harmon, B4518. Take this road, for about 6 miles, passing through the village of St. Harmon and Pant-Y-Dwr. When you reach Tylwch turn left signposted Pen Banc, through the farm onto Cefn Cottage on your left.
